Error with multiple-file uploads
-
When I upload multiple-files with the form from my PC it works fine.
However, when I try to do the same thing from mobile, each image generates an error message:
Error saving form. Failed to read uploaded file.
This happens on every phones in both Chrome and Safari.
I’m testing site locally using “local by flywheel” as localhost.

Hi @coh2o,
I hope you are doing good, and sorry to hear about the issue.
Can you please export the form and share it with us using pastebin.com or Google Drive to take a closer look at this issue?
I hope the following documentation comes in handy: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export
Kind Regards,
Nebu JohnHello John,
I can upload the file but I have never used pastebin while I can do it with google drive.
Give me the info to share with you the file on Google Drive.Thank you and have a good day
Davide
Hi @coh2o
Google Drive will do if you prefer.
When exporting the form from Forminator, please get the export file and put it on your Google Drive then generate a direct link in Google Drive with “Everyone with a link can view” permission.
If you’d rather not share this link here publicly, you can drop me a line at
Just make sure please to:
– not share any credentials
– include that link to the form export file (make sure that it does not require asking for access – it should be set to “Everyone with a link can view”)
– include link to this ticket (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/error-with-file-uploads/)
– and set this as a subject lineATTN: Adam C.
Kind regards,
AdamHi Adam,
this is the link for Drive:

I hope I did things right.
I look forward to hearing from you.Thank you
Davide
Hi @coh2o
Thank you for sharing the form.
I was able to import the form to my test site (just a default setup with Twenty-Twenty Two theme and only Forminator plugin enabled) and test it.
I’ve visited and submitted the form from my Android smartphone (with Chrome browser), adding multiple files at once (of about 5-8MB size) and it worked fine for me.
I didn’t receive any errors, the files were uploaded successfully too.
That said, would you please let us know:
1. when you’re adding files to the form – are you using “drag & drop” option or rather “choose files” and manually select files to be added?
2. you should see progress how the files are uploaded – can you confirm if submit button remains inactive until all the files are no longer having spinning “uploader” icon next to them? Or the button becomes active earlier?
3. If button become active earlier – does error happen only if you submit right away without waiting for uploader to complete or in any case?
4. could you share screenshot of such error? Please advise!
Kind regards,
AdamHi Adam,
I made a screen recording so you can see what happens.
I am attaching the link to Drive.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GsdoIz3jsaFzGIVgx3vF2BADwtbb362Q/view?usp=sharing
If I upload the files from the PC / MAC everything works correctly, the problem persists only with mobile uploads.
Let me know.
Thanks and have a nice day.

Hi @coh2o
Thank you for response!
I watched the video but I still can’t replicate this on my end.
You are using Android device for that test, right? What’s the OS version and what browser (including version) are you using?
I’ve also noticed that first you are trying to take a photo and when that fails you select image from library. What happens on your end if you skip the camera and instead just select (valid – allowed) single photo file from library right away? Is the same error happening then or does it upload and submit fine for you?
Kind regards,
AdamHi Adam,
maybe I understand why it doesn’t work properly.
As I told you I am still in the testing phase and I am working locally using “Local by Flywheel” and I use the “Live Link” function of Local to show how the work is progressing to a person who is in another city.I realized that if I try the form from the PC / Mac where I am working everything works correctly while if I try the form from any device (PC, Mac, Android smartphone or iPhone) using the “Live Link” function of Local it gives me errors you saw in the video.
Do you think this could be the problem? However, below I describe how I made the video.
I used an iPhone 13 with OS 15.6 and Safari as a browser, but the same problem occurs when using Chrome.I purposely showed you what happens both when I want to take a photo and when I want to upload a photo from the library. In both cases an error occurs but of a different nature:
– from camera -> Please try again.
– from library -> Error saving form. Failed to read uploaded file.I hope I have provided you the information you requested.
Kind regards,
DavideHi @coh2o,
Do you think this could be the problem?
It’s tough to say for sure what exactly is causing it without seeing the issue live. Since Local by Flywheel is a 3rd party tool, it’s tough to say for sure if it’s related to what you have mentioned too. There could be chances the assets aren’t loading when accessed from an external device which might cause a conflict but cannot say for sure.
Since we aren’t able to replicate, do you have any public site where you could export your existing form and check whether you could replicate the same issue or not?
That would be the easiest way to confirm whether it works fine or not. If you still face issues even after that, then please do share the page URL to the live site so that we can check further if needed.
Could we also know whether you tested how the upload behaves if you temporarily deactivate all the plugins except Forminator and with a default WP theme?
Please do make sure to clear the browser cache before you run the above test. You can refer to the following URL for instructions regarding clearing browser cache:
https://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/Please do let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your response.
Kind Regards,
NithinHello @coh2o ,
We haven’t heard from you for some time now, so it looks like you don’t need our assistance anymore.
Feel free to re-open this ticket if needed.
Kind regards
