If I use the Core Control plugin to disable the cURL Transport, everything seems to work. Is it OK to disable this?

jp4477 I am having the same error now and did reach out to Jetpack support. While I wait was wondering if you received a fix for your issue?
I’ve just started getting it too. It was working until about two hours ago. I’ve contacted Jetpack support but any help would be appreciated.

I’m having the same error issue with the subscription widget. I wonder if there’s a bug?
When folks try to subscribe by typing their email in, an error message pops up saying
“There was an error when subscribing, please try again.”
I looked through my subscriptions settings and couldn’t find anything that might indicate why this is happening…. Help! 🙂

I have downloaded jetpack already but this is what I got when I click connect to wordpress.com
“Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. connect() timed out!”
I have contacted already my host but their advise to is to contact jetpack.
Any tips on this?
