    Hi,

everything works with using the language file “Deutsch”. There’s a coorect translation into German. Right to the cart symbol “5 Artikel” will be shown. Excellent.

But if I choose the language file “Deutsch (Sie)”, which is offered by plugin “WooCommerce German Market” there isn’t any German translation anymore.

How could I solve this problem; without switching back to the language German?

    Thank you for your support.

    BR

    The language file is: de_DE_formal

    Hi Wolfgang,
The formal German is a separate locale as you have found out, normal german is de_DE and the ‘Sie’ one is de_DE_formal. There is no automatic fallback, so you have to copy the de_DE translations to de_DE_formal. If you place the mo file in wp-content/languages/plugins/wpmenucart-de_DE_formal.mo, it should pick it up while staying update proof.

However, you may want to use the Language Fallback plugin instead, because not many plugins have a formal translation included.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Ewout,

thank you for your info. I had the same understanding and thereof I copied already the de_DE translations to de_DE_formal.

    IT WORKS. 🙂
