Hello, I deleted the plugin and then had this message, I tried to re upload the plugin and it wont upload

files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /var/www/vip12/sites/xxxxxxxxx(replaced)/httpd/htdocs/wp-content/object-cache-plst-orig.php.

now i get this message when trying to re install install the plugin

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /var/www/vip12/sites/xxxxxxx(replaced)/httpd/htdocs/wp-content/object-cache-plst-orig.php.

The link you followed has expired.

I looked a.htaccess and see nothing for w3Total Cache.

I was wondering how to solve this problem. Please.

EDIT, I managed to get the plugin back, not activated it yet. How do i uninstall after activation ? please. without the above messages appearing again.

    Kind Regards John

    Hello @johnboyson

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
The object-cache-plst-orig.php is not a valid W3TC drop-in file. object-cache.php is a drop-in file that W3TC needs to add and use to utilize Object Caching.
Are you using any other plugin for Object Caching, and can you share the content of the file, possibly?
Can you please make a backup and manually remove the file?

    Thank yoU!

Copying that data here will not and cannot work here. It just creates a mess that has no value.

Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ or the like instead and share a link to that paste in reply here.

I have been reading that the Performance Lab Server Timing Object Cache Drop-In may have caused a name change in your file to object-cache-plst-orig.php. I cannot find a solution yet for how to safely deactivate or delete. one of those files. Not sure which one to do first. Maybe I should deactivate the performance lab (7 active components are running in it) Then after that I may be able to delete the other file object-cache-plst-orig.php on the server.

All fine now, I deleted object-cache-plst-orig.php from the server and then uninstalled w3 Total Cache. No error messages coming up any more.
