Errors while uploading to Dropbox

    A few weeks ago I started receiving letters with error logs. The errors are:

    ERROR: Dropbox API: (7) couldn’t connect to host
    ERROR: Step aborted: too many attempts!
    ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 236 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.

    The point that I have not change anything in my Dropbox settings and connection is working well while creating job. The same thing is on my all sites. Despite this, backups are created regularly and without any problems in archive.

    What is the cause of appearing errors and how to fix it?

    I am seeing pretty much the same behavior on some (but not all) of my sites. This started about one week ago. My errors read as follows:
    WARNING: Job restarts due to inactivity for more than 5 minutes.
    [18-Sep-2016 07:38:30] 1. Try to send backup file to Dropbox …
    [18-Sep-2016 07:38:55] ERROR: Dropbox API: (6) Couldn’t resolve host ‘api.dropboxapi.com’

    [18-Sep-2016 07:39:15] ERROR: Dropbox API: (6) Couldn’t resolve host ‘api.dropboxapi.com’

    [18-Sep-2016 08:10:56] ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 6359 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.

    In one site I reauthenticated with Dropbox, to no avail – I still get the error message and no backup files are posted to Dropbox…

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Today I discovered that in addition to the error notification backup copies in Dropbox have not been created too.

    So, is anything happening with this? It’s a common issue, and it has nothing to do with the host (given that all of my other installations are also the same server without a problem) and yet seemingly out of the blue on Nov 15th this started occurring on one of my installations. And I’ve been on other forums where at least 10 other people have experienced the same situation (multiple installs, then some start having this error).

    Additionally, this error is the first and only error in the log. It doesn’t even get so far as to begin looking at the files. I have turned off anything that would possibly affect a header request, set it back to a generic htaccess file. Core and plugins are all up to date and are either very common or fairly common plugins.
