Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all other plugins deactivated?
I am using an older eshop theme and when wordpress 3.9.1 automatically upgraded on may 8th our paypal shopping cart no longer worked.
We had our host server restore wordpress back to 3.6.1.
The eshop paypal check out works again in the wordpress 3.6.1 environment.
Looking for a CODE tweak to run eshop paypal checkout in the wordpress 3.9.1 updated version.
