• The standard WordPress media library folder method for an image heavy website like a marching band does not work when trying to organize between pages, posts, events and such. Especially since the automatic sizing of pictures by WordPress muddies up the already cluttered media library with “Small, medium, large and thumbnail” sized images and having to hover over each one to figure out which image is which size. I finally searched long and hard and found Media Library +. Unbelievable that this isn’t already incorporated into WordPress….after over a decade…
I have since folder-ized our fixed web page elements into folders that we can easily update with new images and videos. Also the “Media Selector” [yellow highlighted text] next to word press’s Media selector allows you to choose folders so that finding a media file is a snap rather than looking at 200 images per page to find the one you just uploaded….
Having a work flow of “Raw image” -> “Retouched image” -> “Smooth image” allows the folder space on your hard drive to mirror the folder space in WordPress.
For our team I allow the members to use WordPress’s media import for posts and events -[non reoccurring] which word press puts into year/month/post folders. But Media Library Plus + handles the heavy lifting for fixed media.

Thanks Media Library + – you are the answer to this new WordPress user’s growing pains with media organization. Now – have WordPress incorporate your code as the STANDARD method!!! Still scratching my head on why they don’t have something like this.
