I am using version 3.1.49 and find that it is stripping all the HTML tags from the event description when I save the event so I cannot use bold text or lists etc. It even removes line breaks

If I were to type the following in the event description:

    One
    Two
    Three

When I reload the event all I see is:

    One Two Three

This works properly in 3.1.48. I have tried this on a brand new fresh install with the default wordpress theme using tastewp.com.

    Can you please fix this.

    Hello,

@joncon62 Thank you for bringing this to our attention we will definitely look into it and provide a fix in the upcoming version.

    Regards,

    WP Event Manager.

@joncon62 I’m using version 3.1.49 as well. I’ve just created a new event with text formatting and a list, and it’s displaying just fine. So I don’t think your issue is with WP Event Manager. You may have some file corruption if this worked ok in a previous version. In which case I’d suggest you download 3.1.49 to your local machine and extract it. Then ftp the extracted files to the WP Event Manager plugin folder. This should overwrite any corrupted files and resolve any file corruption that may have taken place when you upgraded from 3.1.48.

Hi @johnwebman. I tested it on a fresh install with no other plugins and 3.1.49 failed for me whereas 3.1.48 didn’t. Are you sure you reloaded the event after saving? I only see the problem on a reload. This behaviour has shown itself on 3 separate WordPress installations using 3.1.49.

@joncon62 Yes I followed your instructions to the letter, and I can’t reproduce this issue. I also have several installations of the event manager and I can’t reproduce this on any of them. I even created a free temporary site on tastewp.com, installed event manager, and tried again. It all worked just fine.

Hi @johnwebman. You inspired me to have another go after you said it worked for you and I have created a video. It definitely does not work for me on a fresh install, or for any of my other installs.

@joncon62 That was a most useful video. The thing omitted from your original post was the fact that you were creating events from the front end in the event dashboard. I’ve been testing this by creating events from the backend. And from there everything works as it should. If you test this from the back end I’m sure you’ll get the same results as myself. I’ve never used the event dashboard as I basically don’t trust other people to create eye catching and well formatted events. However, you obviously have a need for this and therefore this does need to be fixed. The issue is in a core file so I hope the promised fix is in the promised forthcoming update.

Ah yes, I’m so sorry I missed out that vital piece of information! I run an event creation website so all my ‘event managers’ create the events via front end posting.

Hopefully @jathinhelp will see that vital piece of info so it can be fixed in the next release!
