Events Manager takes over gallery shortcode

I have two plugins running:
– Events Manager
– Meow Gallery Pro (by Jordy Meow)

The two plugins do not work with each other. Events Manager is the issue (the non-Pro version). Not sure why, but it takes over the gallery shortcode, which the Meow Gallery is using. It should have nothing to do with it but unfortunately, that’s what it does.

My questions:
Can someone help me to fix this? (I have an urgent client project)
Can Events Manager please update their plugin, so that it does NOT take over the gallery shortcode of WordPress?

If I switch the Events Manager plugin on „active“, the Pro Version of Meow Gallery does not work because the gallery shortcode gets taken by the Events Manager.

The WordPress „Gallery“ … it seems that “Events Manager” overwrites this part of WordPress. Meow Gallery uses the WordPress Gallery to change it to different views. But I have no clue why the “Event Manager” should use the Gallery of WordPress as a plugin. This seems to be a bug and should be fixed.

Both show the same gallery which is altered through the Plugin „Meow Gallery“ only when Events Manager is not active.

I like to ask the developer why is he using the Gallery shortcode and how to disable it (it doesn’t make any sense to override the galleries if Events Manager a plugin for events).

How are you outputting that shortcode and what shortcode are you using?

The only time EM might override a gallery might be if you’re outputting a gallery on the events page where we override the whole page, although here it doesn’t look like that’s the case since you still have gallery html.

from the looks of it, the gallery with EM active is the original WP gallery output, so somewhere down the line the Meow gallery isn’t getting handed the gallery filter it overrides. I am not sure why that’d happen via EM, if we were short-circuiting the_content (my guess is that’s the filter with the problem) then we’d be having a lot more conflicts than just with this other plugin. I’d ask the developer of Meow gallery plugin to take closer look.
