Events not Showing when Using Event_List shortcode

    I’m testing things out with the free version and loving it , but I’m having a problem. I’m using the Shortcode —

      [events_list category=”5″]

    • #_EVENTDATES: #_EVENTLINK

      • [/events_list]

    and, after publishing, on the page it says “no events” yet there definitely are a bunch of events. What might cause this? I definitely don’t want to buy a plugin that won’t work. Thanks!
