OK, it seems that recent update ruined functionality of the plugin. I am trying to figure out what is going on and this is what is goign on here:

    1. Suddenly, for a ordinary widgets moving, it takes much more time. maybe 4 or 5 times more than it was before.

    2. When I click on CLONE, now a cloned widget goes to a bottom of a custom sidebar.
    3. When I do clone, besides mentioned above, cloning doesn’t work. It creates new widget but settings are not copied.

How can I return to some older version?

    thanks

  • Sorry you are experiencing issues with the update. All of the older versions of Custom Sidebars can be found here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/custom-sidebars/developers/

We recommend that you always backup your site before running updates so you can easily revert if something fails during the update or you encounter a compatibility issue. I will definitely pass this on to the developer to examine the issue further. Thank you for working with us to make Custom Sidebars better.

OK, I will. What version I should use? What do you suggest?

fdestiny: I had a similar problem. I deleted the plugin and reinstalled version 2.1.1.5 and that brought back my functionality. I had to change the sidebar page to “accessibility mode” which you can click on the top of the page.

I previously tried reinstalling 2.1.2.0 but that didn’t work. So, I skipped back a few versions. I didn’t try each one by one going backward.

Well, don’t do what I did. After I clicked accessibility mode. I saw the custom sidebars. But when I left to write the above note, I tried to get into the widget page and it had disappeared.

Hello, thanks, so what are you saying? that downgrade didn’t work?

The downgrade is encountering some sort of problem.

How you did downgrade without loosing all those sidebars?

Oh I see, there is import export feature. GReat!

I ve deleted new version installed 2.1.1.5
    There is no import option?

Still,it remembered old sidebars. Definitely faster, much faster than with the latest version.

But, one problem still remains. When I edit some of the widgets, it won’t save those changes. Basically,I can’t update my site.

We’ve spent time testing and are unable to replicate this issue. Could you run a plugin and/or theme conflict tests by deactivating your other plugins and seeing if this resolves the issue? If it does reactivate your other plugins one at a time until you find the conflict. It also could be from your theme. You can check this by switching to one of the themes included with WordPress.

Here is a clip of our test of Clone:

I am currently in the process of saving all my blog posts and photos manually and hosting provider will restore old version of site , 13 days old. If that doesn’t work,I will try with what you told me. Will report the results here, anyway.

    Thank you πŸ™‚
