• Our company website was handed to me after the person that built it left the company. I am not a WordPress user. I use Jumla for my personal website.

That being said. Another coworker updated WordPress and now the Evolve template is broken.

There is no background color behind the menu or body of the page anymore (it shows up if you inspect the page in Chrome in the code though). Scrolling images are now spread out down the page as single items and links at the bottom of the page are missing their buttons.

The page looks fine while in the customizing section of WordPress, but the live view is really messed up.

I have played with deactivating plugins, inspective the code with Chrome, clearing cache and have tried viewing the site in all the major browsers.

Any help would be great since the company is on me now about getting it fixed.

  • Hi,

You need to update your Evolve Theme to current version which is 3.6.4
You will also need to install the reduxframework plugin as prompted by the theme.

After you had done the updates, clear any cache plugin’s cache content and browser history before re-visiting your website.

Put your website URL here if you require further assistance.

    Thank you

I did both all of this before my post to you. I uninstalled the theme and plugin this morning and reinstalled and there is no difference.

For some reason the background color of the menu bar and header will not show up. On the bottom of the home page, there are 4 links (Our Products, 2016 Events, Contact Us and Technical). The learn more buttons are missing from 3 of them and the one that is there doesn’t work as well.

Like I said before though, the page looks correct while in the live preview.

    Hi,

Are you using another theme now?
It’s doesn’t look like Evolve Theme.

    Thank you.

Yeah. I had to switch themes because we are a business. Now some personal website that can afford to be down.

I can tell yeah, I have uninstalled the Evolve theme and the redux framework… Cleared cache, reinstalled and it still won’t work…

When the Evolve theme is loaded, the menu bar and header will not show a background color. It’s a shame, because I love the theme…

I will re-enable the evolve themes tonight so you can take a look.

    Hi,

You are using a cache plugin. Clear cache and disable it.
It’s not possible to find any useful information by looking at cached webpage source code.
And it’s highly possible for the cache plugin to cache stylesheets in the wrong sequence causing “lost” in styles.

This is how my demo Evolve theme looks on my localhost,

This is what I use as reference to help users here. It does have color on the header and menu.

    Thank you.

    YES, thank you!

There was a cache plugin installed by the guy that originally built the site.

I disabled it and everything is working great again!

    You are welcome.
    Thank you.
