To be honest, I don’t know if it can. This plugin uses the Direct API, which posts payments through the Australian eWAY gateway. It also currently forces the currency to AUD for forms that use it.
I suggest you ask eWAY whether their Direct API can be used for NZ payments, and let me know their response. If it can, then I’ll open up the currency restrictions to include NZD.
I’ll have a new eWAY plugin available by end of December with support for multiple currencies, among other things. It won’t be free though.
If all you need is a free payment integration for Gravity Forms, take a look at Gravity Forms DPS PxPay. That plugin uses Payment Express’ hosted payment form, and supports NZD.

Hi, has there been any movement on an eWay NZ plugin at all? I have a customer who could be keen on using it. Was the plan to use Direct Payments or a way to parse to an eWay hosted page for processing?

Movement, yes… but slow due to other work pressures. It is coming though! I’m building this plugin using Gravity Forms Add-on framework, which is helping somewhat, but also complicating a few things. But it’s getting there 🙂
AFAIK, Direct API doesn’t handle anything but AUD (might be wrong, but that’s AFAIK). I’m building the pro plugin with the Rapid 3.1 API.

@leeroyc now that last week is behind me, I think a better answer for you is: the Pro plugin uses eWAY’s Rapid 3.1 API and offers both the Direction Connection and Shared Page methods. I haven’t bothered with the Transparent Redirect method because I don’t see it as useful in this situation.
Rapid 3.1 API handles NZD; what I was referring to above was the old Direct XML API (which the Free plugin uses) and that one only handles AUD.
