Excel Spreadsheet in Custom Field
-
I have Product Specifications in a speadsheet and I want to use it as is in the Custom Field.
Is this possible and if so, how?

Hi repaul,
What you could do is create a custom field for your product specification and then assign a value for that custom field for one existing product. After that, you could do a spreadsheet export, which should now include a column for your custom field. You can then use that spreadsheet template to create your products with the appropriate values for the custom field and then import that spreadsheet.
I want to copy the section of the spreadsheet containing specifications for all the products for a given product and then convert it to whatever is necessary to paste it into the Custom Field and maintain the formatting ( background color, text font, text color, text size and column size). Like in the TYPE field have a selection for a TABLE.
Hi repaul,
This isn’t possible at the moment. In this case, as an alternative, you could create a PDF with the table of specifications and then create a “File” type custom field and attach the PDF to the product. Or you could copy data from your spreadsheet and paste it right into the product description field. If you have the description box on visual mode (not text/html), WordPress should automatically create a table with the spreadsheet data you pasted. However, after doing this, you’d likely want to use custom CSS to hide the description from the thumbnail view.
Found a work around.
Now how do you display the thumbs on the horizontal and not vertical. I will limit it to 5 additional images.
I use chrome and use Inspect but I can not find what I need to add the CSS code to do it.
Hi repaul,
The easiest way to have your additional image thumbnails appear horizontally is to use the Tabbed Product Page layout. You can choose this in the “Premium” area of the “Options” tab.
FANTASTIC!!!!
Thanks for your help and patience! On the Tabbed Product Page, is it possible to change the names and destinations on the three tabs?
Hi repaul,
The names of the tabs can be changed in the “Labelling” area of the “Options” in the plugin back end. I’m not quite sure what you mean by destinations of the tabs, though. If you require, you can create extra tabs by going to the “Product Page” section in the plugin back end and choosing “Add Tabs” from the drop down selector.
When you click “Additional Information” on the Product Page where do you put the information you want to display. Also is it possible when you click that tab to send you to a new page?
I need to be able to format the information appearing in the custom field that display when the Additional information tab is clicked on the Product Page.
Hi repaul,
It’s not possible to send users to a new page when they click on a tab, but you could include a link within a custom field to redirect users for specific products.
The information itself is pulled from products, and you can select what information you want displayed on the “Options” and “Custom Field” pages, depending on the information.
It should be possible to style all of the information inside of the “Additional Information” tab using CSS.
