I’ve done some testing on a Jetpack connected site using the Button theme and haven’t been able to replicate the excerpts disappearing when Jetpack is deactivated — they are still displayed as expected.
It would be good to know the following:
- Have you created a child theme and made modifications there?
- Did this start happening after installing a new plugin?
- Does the same problem occur with another theme like Twenty Nineteen? If you install Health Check, there should be an option to change themes without affecting normal visitors to your site (from the Troubleshooting tab)
That will hopefully help pinpoint where the issue could be.

I’ve tried several things already… but still the problem appears..
Yes I did… and checked it several times
No… before that… It is something I’ve tries several times the last months, but now I deceided to ask it here
I don’t know, I will take a look at it… the coming days (not right now, just had a very bad notice of a very dear person who is on his deathbed right now, unexpected)
