Excerpts not working

Hi, thanks for creating such a great plugin.

I am struggling to get exceprts to show up in my buffer posts to facebook and google+.

In my settings page I am using the following;

{title} {url} {excerpt}

Its showing the title and url but not the excerpt, is my syntax correct?
