excessive CPU usage

    Hello,

    I am experiencing issues with CPU usage on the server my website is connected to.

    I only use your plugin on my website with the WP Job Manager plugin.

    Despite this, your plugin has very low usage among users on my website. In other words, there isn't a lot of messaging activity.

    Additionally, my website has comprehensive optimization. Your plugin only actively works in specific areas across the website. It is not active in every area.

    My problem is as follows:

    As I mentioned above, there is excessive CPU usage on the server, and it appears that your plugin is the main cause of this.

    The message from the server company is as follows:

    I would like to point out that the https*** is the only one that is restricted, and all other sites are publicly accessible. Additionally, it is important to note that since January, there have been 6 other incidents, all related to CPU usage of your sites, so this is not an isolated incident.

    I checked all requests made to your website on the 12th of September, and noticed 10265 calls to the REST-API endpoint used by Better Messages:

    What measures can I take to prevent this issue? Or is there any adjustment you could make regarding this?

    Hi there!

    Those requests are needed to check new messages and other acitivity in realtime.

    You can reduce number of requests by increasing Site Refresh Interval and Conversation Refresh Interval in plugin settings or you can upgrade the plugin to WebSocket Version to minimize that requests as much as possible.

    There is nothing else I can suggest on this matter.
