    Hello!

    I run the site https://517mag.com/

It’s a local magazine for Lansing, Michigan.

We had 1 story back in 2020 about 3D Printers stepping up to fill PPE gaps, and it must be an SEO goldmine or something because it won’t stop being the #1 story in popular posts for the last several months and we have NOT pushed or advertised this story at all (obviously since it’s 5 years old lol).

Is there a way to exclude it from that front page section without having to take the post down? We want other more recent stories to be there.

The section in question is 2/3 down the page at https://517mag.com/ under the heading “Popular Posts.” The story I want to hide is the top one, “Business, Community Step Up to Fill PPE Gap with 3D Printers

    Hey @nicholasm3,

You can use the Post ID(s) to Exclude field (under the Filters section) for this. All you have to do is add the ID of the article (I believe it’s 13167) to that field, save changes, and that should be it.

Omg of course I miss an obvious option in the settings.

Sorry for wasting your time, thank you!!

Actually @hcabrera I realize why I missed that… I can’t even find where those settings are.

How do I get there? I went to Settings > WordPress Popular Posts and I don’t see those options in the gear menu or the “Tools” menu.

You can find that field within the WordPress Popular Posts block settings 😛

In my case, that’s Appearance > Widgets > Blog Sidebar > WordPress Popular Posts block. Since you seem to be using a page builder plugin on your site the actual location of your popular posts list may be different.

    Thank you for the instructions!

I found it and put 13167 in the field but it’s still showing up. (I double checked to make sure the number was correct as well.) Any idea why that might be?

Well, the only thing I can think of that could explain that is caching. Are you using any sort of page caching on your site? Is WPP’s Data Caching enabled?
