Is there a chance for this option (to exclude categories) to be included at some point?

Hey, there’s nothing more to say that we simply overlooked it. Sorry about this and thank you for reporting the idea.
I think we will replace the current category selector with multiselect box to give a possibility to choose instead of excluding.

The update should be available to download within 2 weeks.
