At the moment, Jetpack Social doesn’t include a built-in option to exclude categories from being shared automatically. Social connections work at the post level, not by category.
This what I recommend trying as an alternative:
- When publishing or updating a post, you can manually turn off sharing for that specific post in the Jetpack Social settings. (that’s my best recommendation)
- You can also disconnect Facebook temporarily if you’re doing a batch of posts that shouldn’t be shared.
I know this can be limiting when you manage many categories, and your use case makes a lot of sense. I’m happy to pass this along as feedback to the Jetpack team, as category-level controls are something other users have asked about too.
