At the moment, excluding a specific event category from the Countdown is not possible. This feature is currently not supported by the plugin. I will share your request with our developers, and they will review it for possible inclusion in a future update.
Regarding your question about keeping the events on the front-end calendars, we are not fully clear about what you mean. The Countdown module itself is not connected to a calendar view.
Could you please explain a bit more about which calendar or page you are referring to? This will help us better understand your requirement.

I have private events listed on my calendars which I want to keep so users can see availability for a venue but I don’t want private functions to be listed on the countdown hence why I asked about excluding them

Now I understand your requirement. You would like to keep the private events visible on the calendar so users can check the venue availability, but you do not want those private events to appear in the countdown section.
At the moment, the plugin does not provide an option to exclude specific event categories from the countdown while keeping them visible in the calendar. I will forward your request to our development team so they can review it and consider adding this functionality in a future update.
