    Can you make it so that this ignores a custom field if it is present on a post or a page. It’s forcing the icon on my home page, and I’m not sure how to turn it off. I love having it for all the posts though. No UI necessary, I’d just like to be able to add a custom field to a page, and it to not set the image if that field is present. something like auto_featured_image = no, or yes.

    How to exclude a specific post?
    Go in to the post/page you do not want to autoset Featured Image.

    Find Meta Box name “Custom Field”.

    Click “Enter new”.

    Enter “no_autoset_featured_image” in Name Table and enter anything in Value Table.
