Exclude post from GN feed

    Hi there,

    I’m using https://websitename/feed/gn as my Google News feed, but I need to ensure that posts from one category (“sponsored”) are not included.

    Does anyone know if there is a way to exclude specific posts from that feed?

    Hi Neenster03,

    There’s not a built in way to exclude specific posts from the main feed, site.com/feed/gn.

    Most publishers reflect their site’s categories in the Google News Publisher Center by setting up a ‘section’ for each category. So, for example, if you have a /news category on your site, you would have a section labeled ‘News’ in the Publisher Center, and you would use the feed for your news category, site.com/category/news/feed/gn, as the url for that section. Then if you have a ‘Local’ section, for example, you would have a ‘Local’ section set up in the Publisher Center and use site.com/category/local/feed/gn for that. You just wouldn’t set up a ‘Sponsored’ section.

    If you want to use just one feed though, you could set up a category on your site that all of your non-sponsored posts go into, and use that as the feed.
