Exclude posts with tag not working

Thanks for a fabulous plugin!

I am having trouble using the the “Exclude posts with this tag” option, and was hoping you could advise. I select the tags I want excluded and generate the shortcode (below) but it still displays posts from the excluded tags. Might it have something to do with the posts_per_page attribute overriding the tags attribute?

Basically I am just looking to display 50 posts on the page but exclude the tags specified.
