Exclude Specific Script from “Combine JavaScript Files

Hey support,

I’m using SiteGround Optimizer and have “Combine JavaScript Files” enabled, but I need to exclude a specific script from my plugin from being combined.

I’ve already tried:

• Adding async and defer, but it still gets combined
• Loading it in the footer, but no change

The script does not appear in the “Exclude from JavaScript Combination” list, so I can’t manually add it there. My questions:

1. How can I properly exclude this script from being combined?
2. Is there a data attribute or another way to tell SG Optimizer to skip it?
3. How can I make sure this script appears in the exclude list so I can add it manually?

I’d prefer not to use a PHP function to fix this.
