Exclude sub-category grid from list view

Hi,

In our shop, the sub categories are displayed above the products. In list view, layout of the sub-categories is a mess. Used theme is Maya Shop. And anyway, list view of the sub-categories is not really necessary.

So, I’m wondering how to show sub-category grid, with the products below shown in list view.

Any ideas?
