Excluding uploads from specific users

    Hello,

    Is there a way to exclude admin user uploads or, otherwise, to limit optimization only for images uploaded by specific other user roles?

    John,
    thanks for your question.
    Allowing or not user uploads is a core WP functionality, you can look into this more here.

    ShortPixel will only attempt to optimize images if the user has an admin or editor role.

    Thanks Alex, but this was not really my question.
    In fact I just want to exclude my own (Admin) uploaded images because I optimize them before upload – but keep the plugin active for other users.

    Sorry for my slow reply, WP’s notification via email seems not to work 🙁

    I better understand what you’d like to do now and I don’t have a solution for your specific use case.
    But I’d advise you to use ShortPixel even for the images uploaded by you because otherwise, the thumbnails which are the images that usually the visitors will see won’t be optimized even if you optimized the original image.
