Expand and Content toggle partly non-functioning
-
Hi there,
I tried to use the Ultimate Blocks elements “Content Toggle” as well as “Expand” to create a toggle element with a YouTube Video inside. The plan was, that I wanted to embed a YouTube Video (via EmbedPlus for YouTube Pro) inside the toggled element, and it should be collapsed at first and only show up, if the user expands the element.
Both worked fine in Firefox, when I look at the page as a logged-in user. But if I load the page in a different browser or in Firefox mobile on my mobile device, the element is always expanded and can’t be toggled at all. Both expand/collapse texts are shown at the same time, and the element is always expanded. The same problem exists in both elements, “Content Toggle” and “Expand”.
Regards and best wishes,

Hi @zapzockt! Do you have a link to one of the pages where it happens? So far, we’ve been unable to find a page within your site where either the content toggle or the expand blocks is present.

Yes, I did remove them, because they weren’t working correctly.
I made some more testing. It seems these two blocks have problems with a nested complex block inside (or those blocks with your blocks) and this especially in Chrome. I tried to use it with a nested EmbedPlus for YouTube block. The result was either the toggle is not working or the YT video is not showing. But if I test your blocks without a complex block inside, just with a text or a link, they seem to work (almost) correctly.
I made a test-page here: https://zapzockt.de/de/test-page-for-expand-and-content-toggle/
It works fine for me in Firefox, but in Chrome it has some strange behavior. The version yesterday did not toggle at all, this version seems to prevent the YouTube embed from showing up and the toggle expands, but it does not collapse again no matter if with an embed or with a link. Not quite sure, what is happening there. But, however, I can’t use this combination, as it somehow is unreliable, at least in chrome.
Edit: It did work in Chrome on Mobile, but not in the desktop version. It’s a riddle…
Hi @zapzockt! This is indeed a riddle. On our end, both the expand and the content toggle blocks work on mobile. The same goes on mobile for expand but not for content toggle. We’re now looking for anything that might cause this behavior.
