Export & Import Problem – Job Posts & Applications

    Hello,

    We have an export & import problem with the WP Job Manager plugin & WP Job Manager Applications add-on.

    We migrating data from one website to another (with the plugin & add-on)

    We successfully migrated the Jobs posts form Job listings using WP All Export plugin (free) & WP All Import (free) with WP Job manager add-on.

    The problem appears when we trying to migrate Applications. More precisely – the attachment of Applications to related Jobs.

    When trying to use WP All Export plugin, it generates an export file with a bug. Few exported fields are with tripled content.

    For example:
    _attachment field – 5c32894f648b1|5c32894f648b1|5c32894f648b1
    _job_applied_for field – “Marketing Internship|Marketing Internship|Marketing Internship”

    We think that it’s one of the problems, why we can’t get acceptable results when using WP All Import plugin.

    When we trying to use regular WP Export/Import we achieved positive results. But none of the imported Applications are attached to related Jobs. And thus, the solution is also not optimal.

    We tried to change the exported Application’s xml file ‘post_parent’ attribute. We changed this parameter to the current Jobs ID (at the website, to which we are importing data). It didn’t help – Applications are still not attached to related Jobs.

    Has anyone tried to export/import Jobs & Applications and succeeded at keeping applications attached to related Jobs?

    However, in this case it sounds like the problem is with WP All Import. Have you asked them for help?

    Note that we do know that importing and exporting is a challenge with WP Job Manager, but it’s not on our current immediate roadmap to improve it.

    Attachments (additional ones outside the one with attachment rule) are stored in a weird way with the Applications addon — they are stored as the URL in custom meta with the key being the LABEL of the field (so there’s no “standard” or “meta key” really). Other fields are stored this way too — the meta key is the label of the field
