Export Media from wordpress.com blog

I need to export Media from our wordpress.com blog and upload it to our hosted wordpress implementation. For now the images linkback to the wordpress.com blog however I need to make sure we don’t lose the links. Therefore I need to export then import the media. The import attachments did not work. There are almost 100 images and doing them 1 by 1 would be very time consuming.
