Export/Import removes formatting

    I’m trying to move my content to a new install. However, when I do export and import, all formatting such as <br /> and <p> are removed. How do I prevent this, or is there a plugin that can fix it?

    Both install are running the latest version WP.

    In my original, I’m running the Twenty Twelve theme, I go to Tools and export the complete XML file.

    In my new install, I’m running a recent theme from Yootheme. I go to Tools and export the complete XML file.

    After import, the posts and pages are somewhat unformatted. It’s like it loses the <br /> and <p> but not tags such as <a href> or <h2>.

    Any ideas?
