Planning a server move rn and creating backups. Tbh, I have a bunch of deactivated plugins sitting in my dashboard. Does the standard export file include those inactive ones too, or just the active stuff? Lmk when possible.

    Hi there!

Great question. By default, the standard All-in-One WP Migration export includes all plugins in your wp-content/plugins folder — both active and inactive. It’s a full snapshot of your site, so deactivated plugins will come along for the ride and stay deactivated on the destination.

If you’d like to keep your backup leaner and leave the inactive ones behind, you’d need one of our paid extensions (e.g. Pro extension), which add an “Exclude inactive plugins” checkbox under Advanced options on the Export screen.

A couple of quick tips for your server move:
    – Make sure the destination site is running the same (or newer) WordPress version before importing.
    – If the backup is large, check your destination host’s max upload size — you may need to raise it.

Hope that helps, and good luck with the migration!
