    Hi
When I try to export products to csv file all of its data come in an irregular format.
All of product data come in one cell with comma separated. I saw a lot of videos that export from woocommerce directly or through other plugins and data is sorted individually each in a separate cell.

I tried also through plugins like webtoffee’s and others and I got the same results.

    How to solve this?

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

CSV means comma-separated values, so it is not really coming in an irregular format.

What might be happening is that the software which you are opening is not converting into different cells. That is usually just a local setting. 🙂

Where are you opening this file? Excel?

If you are using Excel, so you could try using an online tool like https://convertio.co/csv-xlsx/ or https://www.zamzar.com/convert/csv-to-xls/

    Hi
I’m already doing that. I convert them online. But it takes time and needs a subscription because I modify and edit a lot.
When I save excel to csv, cells are separated normally, So I don’t have an issue in excel.
Videos I saw online when they export it opens in separated cells.

When I export it is not

Is there a solution or a setting that I need to configure

    I don’t really know.

As it isn’t a WordPress question, so I recommend you opening a question here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum

They might be able to help you to set this configuration. 🙂

    Hi Felipe
    Thanks for reply

How come it is not a WP issue? CSV is working fine through excel. When I save excel as csv it works fine
The problem appears only when I export from Woocommerce

    Thanks again 🙂

    Hi @riversworldsa,

The reason for this is that Excel does not natively show UTF-8 format, which is what WooCommerce exports in. That is what you need to have the document in, so it is actually better to use Google Docs to edit CSV’s created by WooCommerce.

    Hi @riversworldsa,

I am going to close this thread for now, however if you are still having the issue just reply to this and we will re-open it.

If you have other issues please open a new thread and let us know!
