Exposing metadata (coins)
-
First, it is very exciting to be able to expose the zotero citations and libraries I am using in my work and hopefully will be useful to people using our site.
I’d be interested in exposing metadata from the citations used.
Some things I’ve seen:
– The Zotero export to HTML writes coins metadata so can be used as an example
– A plugin ScholarPress is on the market that exposes Coins data about a particular post (not citations in the post).
– Zotero has a plugin for coins in wordpress but it is not hosted on ww.wp.xz.cn so I imagine it is out of date.Is exposing metadata interesting? I tried to search for this in the forum but couldn’t find previous interest…
Thanks making the plugin available. Either way I look forward to using it on a production site soon to expose case studies.
I have experience coding but not with SVN (more of a git user). I don’t have a lot of time but could experiment on my own installation if it could be eventually integrated into the core.

I just noticed there is the cite function, which is great and may be better than coins actually. However, just to say that my request might still be relevant: I have previously used the ability in google scholar to be able to pull multiple citations at a time with Zotero rather than clicking each one and I often use the icon from the Zotero connector in chrome to give an indication if I can pull in a citation and the icon does not immediately give that indication right now with the cite function. What do you thinK or am I missing some other obvious functionality?
Hi,
- I’m highly interested by this question.
- I’m starting an academic journal with WordPress.
- I’m looking for the best way to integrate the metadata of published articles and cited articles.
- I’ll check the cite function you talked about in your precedent comment which I’m not sure to understand how it can replace metadata necessary for indexing by Google Scholar.
I also have a question for you:
You said:

How do you do that ?
I agree with nicolasld. It’ll be nice if Zotpress can produce metadata which Google Scholar can ingest, as Highwire Press tags.
Thanks to both of you,
François
Can you tell me what you mean exactly by cite function from your last comment ?
And how that can replace Coins ?
Thanks,
François
