What does the ‘Soft Close/Avoid Sniping’ settings for Extend auction do? The tip doesn’t make any sense: First option will keep extending auction if bid placed meet below timing. Second option will extend auction only once and will send email to all bidders intimating latest bid.
Is this part of the normal bidding, or some circumstance when the auction goes beyond the Close date/time? What is the appropriate choice for just normal bidding?

There are 2 options in anti-sniping/soft close feature:
Extend Auction in recursive manner

In this what will happen is that the auction will keep on getting extended when the timing condition is met. For example, if you have set that if someone bids 5 minutes before then increase the time with 10 minutes.
Then whenever at last 5 minutes if anyone bids then plugin will extend the auction by 10 minutes. If auction was going to expire on 6pm and if someone bids at 5:56 pm then the auction will extend to 6:10pm. If someone will again bid at 6:06pm then the auction will again extend to 6:20pm and so on.
Extend Auction only once

In this what will happen is that when the condition meets for very first time then it will extend only once for the time you mentioned. For example, if you have set that if someone bids 5 minutes before then increase the time with 10 minutes.
Then if auction was going to expire on 6pm and if someone bids at 5:56 pm then the auction will extend to 6:10pm only once. If someone will again bid at 6:06pm then auction will not extend.
