I did check out that site, but I didn’t find anything relevent, or explaining how to do it. =/ But I’ll go and look again.
Maybe you can create a .gif repeating for a background and make it repeat-y?

Yeah, if you want to keep your sidebar fixed width use a background image. But if I wanted a floating-width sidebar that extended all the way down the page I’d use a table.
(if erisfree reads this she’ll kill me 😉 )
I used the background repeating, (with help from stewart from http://www.sub-division.com) and it works great. 🙂
