Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
The reason for this is some extra HTML code that slipped in when doing copy/paste. To fix this, please go to the “Edit” screen of this page and switch from the “Visual” to the “Text” editor.
Then, you should see something like <pre> and </pre> around the [table] Shortcode. Please remove this extra HTML so that the Shortcode is standing by itself on its own line.
Regards,
Tobias
Thnx for the quick response!
Problem solved!!!
Hi,
no problem, you are very welcome! 🙂 Good to hear that this helped!
Best wishes,
Tobias
P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
Hi Tobias,
Just like I said the background colorrows are gone. But for some reason the responsive function doesn’t works anymore. Just as you’ve written on your site, I use the shortcode: [table id=3 responsive=”phone” /].
But If you visit the site from a mobile phone, the table isn’t responsive.
Could you help me with this?

Thnx a lot!
Hi,
can you please double-check that the Shortcode has the extra parameter (in the “Text” editor of the page), and that the Responsive Tables Extension is installed and activated as a WordPress plugin?
Regards,
Tobias
Hello Tobias,
All checked these things, but still wont work….
This is my shortcode:
[table id=3 responsive=”phone” /]

Hi,
If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!
Regards,
Tobias
Hello Tobias,
Oke thnx, I will send you an email in a few minutes
Hi,
thanks! I have received it and will take a look shortly.
Regards,
Tobias
Hi,
ok, I had some time to log in now, and from what I can see, this is simply caused by the TablePress Responsive Tables Extension not being installed…
You will have to install and activate the Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/
After that, Shortcodes like
[table id=3 responsive="phone" /]
will work.
Regards,
Tobias
Oke, weird. I thought that i’ve installed the right plugin.
Thnx!
I will check this evening if it works now.
Best regards
Hi,
sounds good. Otherwise, just let me know.

Tobias
Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
This is more a general problem of how to make tables responsive on the web. One idea is to flip the table and make it scrollable. For that, please take a look at this TablePress Extension: https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/
Another idea would be to use only horizontal scrolling, with this: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/responsive-tables-scroll-only?replies=6#post-5511954
