    I am using the free version of BackWPup and love it. One thing I notice however, is that when I use the external link method of executing the backup, I get no feedback that the update is complete or if there are any errors. (ex:
    http://somedomain.com/wp-cron.php?_nonce=d72235ab&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=1)

    Is there some sort of feedback I should be getting besides a blank page, or is this something that is only offered in the Pro version?

    It would be extremely helpful to know that the backups have been done properly and saved in the proper location using the external link.

    No there is no Feadback. It is only the blanck page. There is no differnce betwen pro and free fersion for this.

    If the link has submittet you can go to your WordPress Backend and check if the job runs. It will displayed like a manual start.
