    Hello,

I have the following problem, the eye icon on the Readability Analysis page does not highlight the text that I need to correct. The Blog (WordPress 5.6) is completely new, I use one of the free Astra Starter Sites which is built by Elementor. The blog page itself is also built by Elementor, but I’m using the default WordPress Editor (Visual Mode) when I write or edit posts. I think the default editor is Gutenberg (I have + sign for every block). Here is an additional information:

    – I confirm that Yoast Plugin is the latest 15.5 version and all other plugins are updated to the latest. WordPress is also the latest
    – If I install the classic editor then the Highlight feature is working. This is annoying as I prefer Gutenberg

  • Hi @juniorddd,

The eye highlighting feature is designed to be compatible with the default block editor and the official Classic Editor plugin, so it’s strange that it’s not working.

To help us troubleshoot, we’d like to get the following information:

    1. If you go to plugins and confirm that the Gutenberg plugin is not activated?

    2. Do you see any JavaScript errors in the console when you edit the page?

    3. Check for conflicts by temporarily deactivating all plugins except for Yoast SEO and switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One. Does the eye highlight feature work then?

    Hi,

    Here is the answers:

    1. It is not activated, I don’t even see it in the list of installed plugins

    2. No errors

    3. I read your troubleshooting guide and install the plugin “Health Check & Troubleshooting”. The plugin doesn’t show me any errors or conflicting points. When all plugins are disabled and only Yoast SEO is enabled, then the eye highlighting feature is not working again.

    @juniorddd

We tried to confirm the eye highlighting issue on our end by testing it with standard TwentyTwenty theme and only Yoast SEO plugin installed. For us eye highlighting is working fine on Gutenberg editor. See the attached reference: https://prnt.sc/wi0xhe

Just to confirm, are you seeing any JavaScript error in your browser console?

If you are not sure how to check for JavaScript errors this guide may help: How to find JavaScript errors with your browser’s console? If any error seen, can you describe us or send us the screenshot highlight the error?
    – Does the issue resolve if you clear your cache and cookies? These guides explain more: How to clear my browser’s cache? and How to Clear my Cookies?
    – Does the issue resolve if you use a different browser such as Chrome or FireFox?
    – If you have any browser plugins/extensions, does disabling them resolve the issue?
