Hi there – need urgent help please.

I bought the premium version of the plugin.
    – set “use email as username” as yes and “Create wordpress user” as yes.
    – in the registration form – set “field descriptions” for firstname as “First Name” and lastname as “Last Name”
    – When I check the wordpress user details, “Username”, “Nickname” and “Display Name” all contain the email address. “First Name” and “Last Name” remains empty.

I use Buddypress forums and the above issue means that all forum entries by users display their email addresses as it pulls the information from the wordpress user details.

I need the F-E only user registration form detail to be pulled through to the wordpress user fields when the wordpress user is created, so it is available in other areas of the site.

This is creating privacy issues on my site – need to resolve urgently please.

    Hi rambam,

If you’re using the premium version, you should take advantage of the premium email support for easier and quicker communication.

When you create/edit a field, there is a setting at the bottom called “Field Meaning” that displays the available WordPress user fields to which you can associate that particular field. You need to set these in order for the info to be correctly transferred over to the WordPress user account.

For the “Nickname” and “Display name publicly as”, we don’t currently have an option/way to transfer that information from our plugin/registration process over to the WordPress user account. And, by default, WordPress just assigns the username (which is the email address) to these fields. We can note this as a feature suggestion and look into the possibility of adding something like this in a future update.

That being said, for the time being, those who register could just log in to their WordPress account and change “Nickname” and “Display name publicly as” to whatever they like.
