Facebook Count not working

    Hi,

    I can not get the Facebook count working, I’ve tried everything. Right now, I’m having to manually update the count every day.

    The Twitter count works fine.

    Our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/eureporter has all public settings, yet still the count shows 0.

    Please help?

    Greetings,

    Both Facebook and Twitter just updated the way they display their content, so the counters aren’t working. From time to time they do these changes, and we update our servers and everything continue working as usual.

    But this time is different, they really went the extra mile to prevent accessing information related to the pages.

    We’ll be working on this, but unfortunately we’re unable to provide a time estimate, sorry.

    We’ll let you know in this thread when we have any news.

    We’ve updated our servers. The counters should now show an approximate value for facebook, and an accurate value for twitter. Please test it and let us know.

    The current solution is not the best one, but at least it allows the plugin to continue working. We’ll need to come up with a better solution, but that won’t be easy.

    Bear in mind both facebook and twitter are multi billion dollar companies with virtually unlimited resources to make things hard for people to access the information displayed on their platforms without having to comply with their arbitrary API signups and procedures.

    In our opinion, page owners should be able to decide by themselves whether their page information is publicly available or not.
