Hi – (free version) On the Facebook icon, I have ‘Visit Us’, ‘Share’ and ‘Like’. The first 2 I can understand. But what is somebody clicking on the ‘Like’ option actually meant to do? (say this is at the end of a blog post). What results from somebody clicking on ‘Like’ – Are they meant to be sent off to Facebook somewhere?

Thanks Peter for your question. It means that on Facebook, the specific page where the user clicked on, has one “Like” more. I’m not sure how Facebook uses that information, maybe it plays a role when Facebook decides which blog posts to show to people (on Facebook). It then also shows one more like below the shared post on Facebook, which sends a positive signal. For most bloggers the most relevant point is that when they decide to show shares & likes on their site (which our plugin also allows), that it increases the count, which shows that the article is popular.
