Facebook Likes Decreases when switched to https

Hi,
I had the problem of posts such as this one (as a random example) https://www.peacefulparent.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/ no longer showing the history of facebook likes previously gathered on that post. You’ll notice that it only has 13 likes, but when we look at the http page; http://www.peacefulparent.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/ , you’ll see that it’s something like 3,500 likes which makes a huge difference not only to the credibility and confidence that’s being conveyed to visitors, but also in terms of google ranking. Is there any way around this problem?
We have viewed and review this similar topic https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/https-switch-lost-twitterfb-likes/ and enabled the settings http://prntscr.com/hb22pj but still doesn’t get the likes back.

Thank you so much for that!Really appreciated. But as we were going to try the solution you gave. The share button and counters are not showing now. It is actually working on our live site https://www.peacefulparent.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/
but when we tried on our staging site http://peacefulparent.staging.wpengine.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/ it doesn’t display at all even if we did the same settings on the live site.
