WordPress doesn’t have any built-in Facebook features.
What plugin are you using to provide that, or is it a feature of your theme?
I am not sure. I just write for a blog. When I click on Edit My Profile, there’s a section that says contact info.
In that section there’s are boxes that say:
Email (required)
Website
Site Title
Twitter
Facebook
Youtube
LinkedIn
In the Twitter box, I put my twitter handle, and there’s a little Twitter bird that links to my Twitter page on my profile page. When I put things in the Facebook box, and click Update Profile, it does absolutely nothing.
Sadly, I don’t know what that is either.
Can you share the URL of the site?
Hello!
Did you insert the whole URL or just the Facebook handle, like you did for Twitter?
I never paid too much attention to that part of WordPress, but I checked my websites and they all have different social media fields there. Since I basically have the same plugins installed on every website, but different themes, I believe the theme inserts those extra fields. So it could be a theme bug.
I also have a testing site with a fresh WordPress install, and there are no default social media fields in the User area.
Is there a way for me to send a screenshot of what I am seeing?
I use imgur.com for sharing images. Don’t really know what else to recommend. You could use that, I guess.
Ok all, here is what I see.

When I put things into the Facebook dialog box, no matter whether it’s whole link or the page title, I get this:

Then, when I go back to the page it’s supposed to update, nothing has changed.
Yeah, it could be a theme bug, or a plugin could cause some conflict, in which case the site administrator will need to deactivate them, then activate them one by one until he spots the faulty one.
Yeah, I still don’t recognize that, I’m sorry. It must be a plugin or theme feature.
We can direct you to support for the specific plugin or theme, but we have to know what it is for sure first.
Try deactivating all plugins. If that removes those fields, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
If that does not remove the fields, try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme to rule-out your theme.
Then, just let us know which one it was! π
