Hi, I setup facebook login and google login, it works. But today I just realized that the facebook login through mobile phone is not working. I ‘m getting “App not set up. This app is still in development mode….” error message. But it’s working perfectly fine on desktop.

    Any thought?

    Update:
    – The URL on my mobile that not working and came back with error message, works on desktop.
    – I tried using Samsung (I’m using a samsung phone) default web browser, the facebook login works, it seems that mobile chrome is not working.

    Hi @amatechaws

According to your error message the problem is that, your App is still in development mode.
You should switch it to “Live” like we suggest it in the 19th step of the written guide on the Getting Started page of our Facebook provider, and that will fix the problem.

Note: I think the reason it worked on your PC is that, on your PC you probably tried to login with your Developer Facebook account that can access to the App even if it is in “Development” mode, however when you checked it in mobile, you might used a another Facebook account, that doesn’t have access to the App.

    Best regards,
    Laszlo.

Thanks Laszlo, but it’s not that. I have been trying on other computer, other browser, incognito mode…
On any other computer or browser, after I click the “login with facebook” button, it redirect to the facebook login page where you can key in your credentials. But on my samsung chrome, it straight away go to the error message page.

    Hi @amatechaws!

I checked out your website on my desktop computer, and I’m getting the same error message:
    “App Not Setup
This app is still in development mode, and you don’t have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.”

So from our end it still looks like, that the problem you are seeing is not about browsers, but the Facebook application is not set to be “Live”. You are probably using different users, and in your Samsung mobile Chrome you might have a setting, to autologin and that is why you aren’t seeing a login form, just the error which comes after it.

If you think your application is live, then from you application:
    https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
please send me a similar screenshot:

where the “App ID” and “App Mode” is visible on top. You could send it to: [email protected]

Hi Yes you guys are right, it’s not in LIVE mode now, but i’m sure it was in live mode before. I suspect it’s some setting that I need to set correctly.
Right now, my developer page is getting this error under the “Facebook Login” tab:

Your app has standard access to public_profile. To use Facebook Login, switch public_profile to advanced access. Get Advanced Access

    Hi @amatechaws

I am glad you managed to solve the problem.

Just in case if someone else would also have a similar problem:
This other problem was connected to the App permissions. As we mention in the Getting Started section of the Facebook provider ( 20th step ), you need to request Advanced Access for the mentioned “public_profile” and “email” permissions, otherwise only the developer account of the App will be able to use your App.

The advanced access can be requested for your Facebook App at App Review > Permissions and Features.
