After latest yoast update my feature image isn’t showing as og:image on Facebook instead it shows first image of my post as og:image. It works just fine when i deactivate yoast from plugin manager and then make a post.

I have tried to define a default Facebook image under SEO > Social > Facebook but the result is same is shows first image of post as og.

Just fix this asap i can’t keep yoast deactivated that’s why now i have to upload feature image in my posts too which is very frustrating.

Thank you for reaching out! We apologize if you are having issues with the plugin.

The default image configured under SEO > Social > Facebook is only used when you don’t have any images on the page and when there is no custom Facebook image configured in the Yoast metabox for the post/page and when there is no featured image set. Does that meet your expectations?

Did you configure a custom image under the Social tab in the Yoast metabox for the post you are having this issue? Can you share a URL with us so we can check the Yoast output on the page?

Here is the link you can see it has a feature image specified but that is not showing as og:image on facebook, twitter is fine.

I also have the same problem. This new update has causes a lot of people have this problem

@avinash56 We checked on the link you provided in the Facebook sharing debugger and after rescraping the URL the image of http://www.samastipurtown.com/bihar/2020/05/bihar-tally-reaches-1193/ appeared as the preview. Can you please confirm whether this is the expected image?

This is very strange it is now showing the image correctly. But even now issue still exists for new posts the main problem is that it doesn’t catch feature image as og:image if i have to rescrap my url for every new post that would be very frustrating don’t you think. And i didn’t added feature image after editing it was there the first time i posted that article. And issue is gone when i deactivate yoast so there is definitely something wrong with yoast seo latest update. Thank you and waiting for you to help me fix this.
