Hi – your plugin is great and has taken me 10 mins to do what Facebook for Woocommerce wouldn’t. I am not using the paid version, but the Facebook Pixel part seems to work? I have added my pixel id and it is showing up – the only thing I don’t think it is registering is the add to cart event. Is this something I need to upgrade for?

    Thankyou!

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

The free version of our plugin has full Facebook pixel features so there is no need to upgrade to the paid version of our plugin.

I had a look at your site and checked if the AddToCart event is triggered on it. You can check yourselves by installing the Facebook Pixel Helper in your Chrome browser. Once you do you get to see this on your cart page: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mhg1nwr4e8wddfi/AddToCartEvent.png?dl=0

As you can see the AddToCart event is fired on your cart page.

Thank you – were you able to see if it fired when you clicked the add to cart button on the product page, and not on the cart summary page? When I use the pixel helper i don’t see it firing there, but do see it on the page you showed.

    Thanks Again.

    Hi,

That is correct. The event only fires on the cart page itself.

A few years ago it also fired on the add to cart button itself. However as we found that WooCommerce themes all use different buttons and (css) divs we could no longer support this as it was unable to support all different themes out there.

Thank you – can you think of an easy way for me to add the event on an Add to cart button, as in my shopping process there is a lot of people who click add to cart but go no further who I would like to capture?

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

I a afraid there is not a real quick/easy fix for it.

It would imply create a piece of jQuery that would capture an user clicking on the Add To Cart button. The jQuery should check for the “single_add_to_cart_button” class being clicked: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sjdfgudbsk1yd3s/notthateasy.png?dl=0

Once that happens the jQuery should trigger the FB AddToCart pixel event to be fired. Not sure how technical you are or if you have a developer who can assist you with it?

Hi – not that technical and don’t have a dev, but its a great starting point! I know how to use Google Tag Manager to set an onlick event so might look at that, or see if I can find a developer.

Alright, let us know when you need more information on this
