    Hi

We’ve recently integrated the site with Facebook and started receiving reports of users receiving the following error message when attempting to pay with PayPal:

Things don’t appear to be working at the moment
    [Please try again.]

This is an intermittent issue as we have tested this and not experienced the same issue, although the exact conditions of each user is not known i.e. what device they’re using, software versions etc. We know that they are able to complete the transaction if they visit the site in a ‘proper’ browser and that customers have been able to pay by card where PayPal was not available.

I suspect this is due to the PayPal interface loading in a modal/lightbox type window which doesn’t appear to be supported by Facebook WebView. Is it possible to change this so that it redirects to the user to PayPal in the same window to complete the payment i.e. target="_self"?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @stevemcloughlin,

Thanks for reaching out about Braintree for WooCommerce! I’ll be happy to help.

As a starting point, I’d like to get a better understanding of your setup – could you please paste your system status here? You can grab it by going to:

WooCommerce > Status and clicking on Get system report.

Additionally, you mentioned that you’ve recently integrated your site with Facebook. Could you please share some additional details with me on how you did this, including any plugins that you used to do so?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @stevemcloughlin,

I reviewed your site and I can see that you’re actually using my plugin Braintree For WooCommerce. The Skyverge team recently changed their plugin name to be the same as mine and it’s causing a lot of confusion.

Please create a support request on my plugin page and I can help you out.

    Hi @jenskyverge,

This is happening a lot since Skyverge changed the plugin name to include my plugin’s name. I think it’s best if you all refer to your plugin as its full name Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway. My plugin has been named Braintree For WooCommerce since 2015.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @mrclayton,

Thanks so much for catching this mix-up! We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for this in the future. 🙂

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
