Failed to open stream

    I’m new on wordpress. After uploading wordpress and making the initial run, I’ve added comicpress theme.

    The basic layout displays as expected, but now I want to personalize the site, so I’ve clicked on the header menu to upload a custom header image.

    In return, I’ve received this error message:

    Warning: copy(/home/makukasc/public_html/spanish/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/cabecera1.jpg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/makukasc/public_html/spanish/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 348

    Warning: getimagesize(/home/makukasc/public_html/spanish/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/cabecera1.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/makukasc/public_html/spanish/wp-admin/custom-header.php on line 665

    I’ve checked the installation, and all files are in place, despite the fact the error says there’s no directory or files. After several attempts, the result is the same: wordpress cannot upload the new header. How can I solve this?

    Ok, I’ve partially solved this issue deleting everything from the server, and reinstalling everything from scratch, but now I’ve got this:

    Ayuda
    No se pudo crear el directorio /home/makukasc/public_html/Spanish/wp-content/uploads/2012/05. Asegúrate de que el servidor tiene permisos de escritura para el directorio superior.

    So now instead of saying can’t open the stream, says cannot create the directory, and asks if I have permissions for the upper directory instead…How can I solve this?

    PD: no idea why the error displays in spanish instead. I suppose it’s ’cause I’m constructing a spanish website.
