Hey folks,

Since using the Gutenberg editor I’ve come across a problem with embedded videos within the content. Articles containing YouTube videos won’t be published to Apple News and instead receive this error:

There has been an error with the API: FAILED_TO_PARSE_IMAGE - Failed to parse image with URI [https://www.youtube.com/embed/TMrLH4gr9CE?feature=oembed].

Any advice on how we can fix this would be awesome!

Me too.

Seems to be any type of video that is causing a problem. Plus GIFs!

Yes, this is a known incompatibility with Gutenberg. We have flagged this as an issue on GitHub and are planning a release to introduce full compatibility with Gutenberg. In the interim, you could filter your content before it gets sent to Apple News for parsing to use the legacy YouTube embed format.

Thanks Kevin. Yes using legacy YouTube code and that as you say works.
